Ray Butcher is a highly acclaimed jazz trumpeter with a global performing history, having graced stages at renowned jazz clubs like the 606 Club, Ronnie Scotts, and Matt and Phreds. Heavily influenced by jazz legends Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis, he has also performed alongside many leading UK jazz improvisers. His performance at the 2025 Buxton International Festival turned heads so it’s a treat to welcome Ray to the Bonington Bar.
Beyond the jazz scene, Ray’s impressive career includes a musical TV debut at age 15, performing the trumpet solo on the Grammy-nominated “God’s Great Dance Floor” for Martin Smith and Chris Tomlin, and collaborations with diverse artists such as Dr. John, Mica Paris, and Robbie Williams.
