Two Sisters- Shakespeare’s Daughters

Two Sisters. Shakespeare’s Daughters.

This highly acclaimed production portrays the everyday and remarkable story of two young women in Tudor England. Ordinary because we see them going about their daily routines—making bread, doing laundry, gathering herbs, and discussing their future husbands. Remarkable because they are Susanna and Judith Shakespeare, and their father is none other than William Shakespeare. The play offers a wonderful insight into the family of one of England’s most renowned men. Full of joy, laughter, and sorrow at the loss of a sibling, it vividly brings Shakespeare’s daughters to life and gives a glimpse behind the scenes of the family behind the great man.

“Farrell and Gilmour’s sisterhood rang true with infectious excitement and rivalry. They brought a compelling emotional reality to their roles, whether expressing their simple delight in the scent of rosemary, or whether Susanna was reminding Judith of the duty owed to her as the eldest” Stratford-upon-Avon Herald

Bonington Players- Season’s Greetings

Season’s Greetings…a comedy by Alan Ayckbourn

When families get together to celebrate a special occasion, there’s a danger that all hell will break loose. Particularly if you happen to be trapped for several days with all your relatives and copious amounts of alcohol!

It is Christmas Eve in the home of Neville and Belinda Bunker. Belinda’s sister Rachel is waiting for her friend, novelist Clive, to arrive for a few days. Heavily pregnant Pattie and her husband Eddie are at loggerheads while in the kitchen Auntie Phyllis’s efforts to prepare the dinner are hampered by her drunken and clumsy antics. Her doctor husband Bernard’s seasonal highlight is his puppet theatre entertainment and retired security guard Uncle Harvey has a rather unseasonal stash of weapons with him.

Petty squabbles break out and some not so petty and that’s before you add to the mix broken toys and creaking marriages

One of Ayckbourn’s finest plays. Come and watch this festive classic unravel!

Copper Studios: Hadestown- Teen Edition

After the critically acclaimed productions of ‘Chicago & A Chorus Line, Copper Elite now descends into shadows with Hadestown: Teen Edition, where myths are reborn in smoke, brass, and song.

This is a tale sung across time: two love stories entwined. Orpheus, a dreamer with a song to heal the world, and Eurydice, a wanderer seeking safety from the storm. Hades, the iron-fisted King, and Persephone, the goddess of spring whose laughter once greened the earth. Their fates dance between light and darkness, faith and doubt, love and fear.

Inspired by the spell of American folk and the fire of New Orleans jazz, Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown is no ordinary musical, it is a living myth, a folk opera that reminds us even in the silence of the underworld, music can rise.

Guided by the hand of Harry Hindley (Director & Musical Director) and brought to life through the elemental choreography of Megan Hindley, Copper Elite invites you to follow the road down to Hadestown and back again.

*Runtime of approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes (including interval)

*It is recommended for ages 8+ with some content related to violence, substance use and mature themes. Theatrical Haze, strobing and loud effects will be used during the performance.

Hadestown Teen Edition is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Corp. www.concordtheatricals.com
